Mt. Baker Mid Century Modern Remodel

Perfectly perched high above Mt. Baker Park in the stately Seattle neighborhood of Mt. Baker, this mid-century modern gem was in desperate need of a refresh. Built in the late 1940’s, it hadn’t seen any improvements in over half a century. The location was perfect though, and a vision was crafted to open the main level up all the way to the roofline to create one huge space for entertaining, cooking and bird watching. The job started with tearing out everything down to the studs and starting from scratch. New plumbing, electrical and HVAC systems were installed. New windows, insulation, and framing for the reconfiguration of bedrooms and baths were installed. The basement was converted into two bedrooms that share a Jack n Jill bathroom and the master suite was created on the main level with a custom tile walk in shower, soaking tub and stone counters. The kitchen faces windows to the park as well as the back patio for endless inspiration. Finished off with stainless steel appliances and custom woodworking touches, this mid-century modern gem now accents the park and the space around it and will for years to come.
